To use parental controls, first enter a password for the administrator. Nobody but the administrator can access the eBlocker settings and disable parental controls.
You can set the administrator password in "eBlocker Settings > General" under "Admin Password".
Navigate to the menu "eBlocker Settings > Parental Controls".
Create a user
Settings > Parental Controls > Users
First create a new user to whom you want to assign a profile later. Enter a name and leave the default profile selected.
Save the user.
Create new profile
Settings > Parental Control > Parental Control Profiles
The default profile is automatically assigned to all existing and new devices in the home network.
Click on the button "New protection profile" to create a new parental protection profile. To distinguish your profiles, enter a name and a short description.
Save the profile.
To access the settings of the profile you have just created, click on it in the list.
Here you can subsequently change the name and description of the profile, edit the website and category filters, create time restrictions or delete the profile.
In the profile settings you can also see to which users the profile is currently assigned.
Blocking websites of certain categories
To avoid having to enter every unwanted website individually, eBlocker provides you with categories of web pages. Categories can be locked for each individual user.
To select specific categories for a profile now, activate the "Access to the following websites is prohibited" slide button and click on the categories to be blocked.
If you move the mouse over the list of categories, a tooltip will inform you about the content of the categories.
Save these settings.
The filters for this profile are now generated. This may take a few seconds. You can edit the settings for access to the website category filter again by clicking on the "Edit" button.
The individual categories are automatically updated daily.
Calls to websites and connection calls to apps that are subject to these restrictions are now blocked by eBlocker on all devices assigned to this profile. Instead of the desired website, a corresponding message appears in the browser.
Set time limit
If you activate the "Time restriction" slide switch, you can specify weekdays and times periods during which Internet access is possible for this profile.
Further time restrictions can be added by clicking on the "Add" button. Use the pencil or the minus sign to edit or remove time limits.
Attention: If no time period is specified, Internet access is possible at any time.
Attention: With a click on the button "Configuration" the eBlocker administrator can access the settings of the eBlocker.
If you define time limits, no Internet connections will be allowed from the assigned devices outside the allowed times. The eBlocker will then display a corresponding message on the device.
The restriction of Internet access applies to all apps and websites. Online games or applications that require a connection to a server may not start or display an error.
Assign a profile to the user
Settings > Parental Controls > Users
Click on the user to whom you want to assign a profile. Select the corresponding profile from the "Select Parental Control Profile for this user" drop-down menu.
Assign user to a device
Settings > Devices
Select the device to which you want to assign a user. Under "Device Belongs", select the user to be assigned to the device. Only one user can be assigned to a device at a time. A user, on the other hand, can be assigned to several devices - e.g. all devices of a child.
As soon as a user has been assigned to a device, the device gets its own control bar, which differs slightly from the normal control bar. For devices protected with parental control profiles, it is no longer possible to access the eBlocker settings, pause the eBlocker for the device, or call the eBlocker help. Instead, the profile name and the times allowed for Internet access are displayed.
